Great Blue Heron, Merced National Wildlife Refuge, CA

These herons come into the refuge at dusk. This guy was the only one close enough to the observation area to shoot. Unfortunately the sun was behind him and going down, so the lighting wasn't the best. We saw dozens of them fly in at sunset but it was too dark by then to capture them. It just means I'll have to go back and try again.
