The footbridge in the left distance gave access from Clegg street to Woodstock street, The footbridge has now gone but the access steps from Woodstock Street remain.
In the distance the lines forked, the L&Y line as here to the right down the 1:80 to Werneth, the OA&GB through the bridge to the left. Clegg Street and Central stations rubbed shoulders with each other, platforms protruding from both bridges.
