SUPs (285/365)
October 12, 2010: Today's Project 365 entry is of two solitary stand-up paddleboarders in the vast Pacific Ocean. Well, at least that's the image I wanted to project. In reality, these two were just a ways beyond the breaking waves in Newport Beach. I was fortunate enough to not be constrained with photographing them just from shore.
It was entertaining watching these SUPs finally come in to shore. The lady caught a wave and rode it all the way in. In doing so, she rode past at least 3 dozen guys on surfboards. Every single one let her catch the wave and was content to sit on their board and just watch. I'm sure they were taken by the novelty of a SUP. It had absolutely nothing to do with her being female.
Interestingly, when the guy SUP caught the next wave in to shore, not one of the surfers paid any attention......
