Geraldine Road, Wandsworth, SW18
With many local streets in urban areas being used as "rat runs" to bypass congestion, local councils install traffic calming features and extra markings in a bid to slow traffic and encourage traffic to take another route. Unfortunately, it is rather unsightly, and a rise in emissions from cars, especially as many drivers speed up to "make up lost time".
This street however is more pleasing to the eye due to the presence of street trees. Most of the houses in the picture have been converted into maisonettes.
