Kaleidoscope artwork construction
Artist Christopher Lutter-Gardella created the interactive exhibit Kaleidoscope, featuring a 30-foot monarch butterfly and 300 smaller butterflies. The goal was to "share the critical story about the decline of the monarch butterfly and other pollinators with the hope of educating guests on how they can make a difference to help address this situation."
Volunteers helped assemble the smaller butterflies using waste materials such as plastic spoons (eyes) and plastic bags (bodies).
