Sacred symbols

Four symbols sacred to some American Indian tribes are visible here - a thunderbird, a horned figure, a turtle, and a circle. Many Indian tribes use circles to represent the earth, the source of life and provider for all. Circles may also represent universal power, or a drum used with songs offered to the spirits.
