Evening Splash! (New and Improved)
I highly recommend fellow flickr stuckincustoms for any HDR references. He created a very useful tutorial at www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-tutorial/ - a must for every single flickerer who is dying to do HDR. In this image I have applied his tutorial and successfully got rid of the halo effect around the tree due to photomatix processing. I also learned the powerful layer masking in photoshop.
------------
About this picture:
Retouch image by applying stuckincustoms's HDR method. Learned new thing - got rid of the annoying HALO effect around the tree.
This shot:
Standard 3 exposure shot (+2..0..-2 EV) using Canon EF 24-105mm F4L
Photomatix:
- Tonemapped generated HDR using detail enhancer option
Photoshop:
- added a layer of curves to enhance the overall contrast
- added a layer of levels then slightly shifted the midpoint toward the left to brighten up the image
- Added a layer to enhance the yellow in image
- added a layer to enhance the blue in the sky
- applied unsharped mask in the background layer
