My Grandma
-This is a photo of my maternal grandma, who now has Alzheimer's. She took us in when i was little, she took me to her and grandpa's craft shows every weekend, and taught me how to save every little thing i can get my hands on, lol!
Gratitude 27:30 I love my Grandma, and i am grateful for all that she gave me in life. She is my kindred sister, she understood me in ways i'm only now learning about myself, she was gracious and kind to me even though she wasn't that way with her own children. I miss her deeply. She is in a home now, were she can be properly attended to, and rather happy. She forgets all the bad things and does puzzles in the puzzle room.
When i was little she bought outfits for all my Cabbage Patch dolls and tucked them in at night. She made up beds on the kitchen floor where the heat blew from under the fridge. The bottom drawer was filled with treats i picked out at the grocery store. When Barbie needed a wedding dress, we went to 4 stores to find one. We played tea party with dishes she stole from the airplanes. She laughed at everything i said like i was a wonder. We stayed up past midnight every new year's to put together a puzzle (this is a 7pm bedtime gal we are talking about, so staying up late with grandpa and me was a big deal!). She let me paint pictures with all her colors of white out at work. We bought caramels from the vending machine in the basement, where she pretended not to eat the most. She always dumped her berry pickings into my basket so that it looked like i'd done more than just sit around and eat them at the you pick farms. She ate apples all the way, core, seeds, every day.
Thanks, Grandma, even if you don't remember, i do.
