Little Elk and Deep Lakes

Three day backpack (somewhat rainy) June 25-27. Camped at Little Elk Lake in the Marble Mountains of northern California. Hiked the additional 3.5 miles into Deep Lake (the original destination). Good trout fishing by George. Chiyemi, Denise, Kathy and Terry watched and four of us ate trout-on-a-stick with gusto that night.

Unusual weather pattern for late June: rainy and very windy in the evenings and night. Glad our tent did not leak but much equipment and all clothing got wet, stayed damp and chilly.

Rain let up on the second day, but precious little blue sky. That waited until the day we left and had a delicious lunch at the Etna Brewery.
