1978 Yamaha TT500E Enduro [#3]
The third motorcycle I bought from Rogers Yamaha. Not very long after riding the Honda XR250 I began getting bored and wanted more power. So I traded the XR250 on the TT500E back in 1981. I was 18 here in New Zealand. The pic here is not my bike but it is more or less exactly the same as the bike I had. I captured this bike at the 2012 NZ Motorcycle Championships at Teretonga [I actually wondered if it was my old bike!]
Immediately after purchasing the bike it had starting issues. I returned the bike to the dealer who replaced the spark plug. It didn't seem to help much. However once I got the engine started and began riding it, I was immediately impressed by its power. Wow! My love affair with 'Thumpers' began.
