UPDATE: 6/19/2009 Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, now of the Houston Astros, has broken the record for games played as catcher after working his 2,227th game behind the plate. Rodriguez broke the record on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 in his 19th season in the majors.
