Nothoscordum bivalve (Crowpoison)

There is a lot of crowpoison at Forty Acre Rock, and a lot of crows. I guess nobody told the crows that Cherokees used to make a poison from this plant to poison crows, preventing them from eating their corn. Very common on granitic outcrop in thin soil, Forty Acre Rock Heritage Preserve, Lancaster County, South Carolina. It seems to always be in flower there.
