Monotropsis odorata (Appalachian Pigmy Pipes)

Jim Fowler was kind enough to point these tiny little (and very secretive) plants out this weekend. My mom spent some time crawling on the ground following the strong clove scent to see if she could find more plants hidden under the leaves. Devil's Fork State Park, Oconee County, South Carolina.
