Chrysopogon aciculatus (Golden false beardgrass)
I found this plant in 2012. It was the first discovery of it in the United States. It is on the Federal Noxious Weed list. This colony was growing in the grassy approach in front of the runway at the Homestead Air Reserve Base, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Members of the Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area are working on eradicating this colony to prevent its spread.
