Pyxidanthera barbulata (Common Pyxie-moss)

Thanks to Will Stuart's lovely photos of a related species yesterday {www.flickr.com/photos/willstuart/16581237627/} I drove on down to the coastal plain this morning to look for these. I was rewarded with carpets of little pyxies flowering under the pine needles. Little Pee Dee Heritage Preserve, Marion County, South Carolina
