Civil War quilt top, blocks pieced together

Quilt blocks from Barbara Brackman's weekly blog, commemorating the 150-th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War. Setting by Becky Brown.

I used an variety of CW reproduction fabrics, along with a tea-dyed nuetral tan background fabric, to make my 8"blocks. This is the top placed on our king-size bed. I will add an outer border fabric to make the quilt wider and longer.

Pieced on several of my 100-plus year -old treadle sewing machines. I will either hand-quilt this top, or quilt it on my 1950's vintage German tailor's treadle sewing machine.
