Moonshadow Punishment

The sun peeks then departs,

hiding behind racing clouds

as though scared of what might be seen -

a child hiding in a closet

while parents fight.

She leaves the Earth grey

and homeless in moonshadow punishment

for atrocities committed

by the fathers of today.
