ONCE, so mighty and proud.
all that is left, a moss covered stump of what was once a very tall, large, and majestic elm tree, (ulmes procera) before dutch elm disease took it's toll on britains elms. this one would be over 200yo, and 100ft tall, with a mighty girth, there was once a whole row of giant elms along the becks lane, and this one still serves a multitude of natures creatures well. langholm, dumfriesshire, scotland. view large
