A SMALL, woodland waterfall.

this small-ivy, fern, and moss covered waterfall, known to locals as the devils pool. (thanks to jimmy kingstree for that info) - the young poser wanted to rename it, (king elfs pool) it lies about two thirds of the way up the becks burn, in the becks wood. and is hidden from view unless you know where it is, or walk further upstream from the wooden bridge. the deep pool takes on a green colour due to the moss, ivy, and other green vegetation that surrounds and overhangs it. always cold even in summer, great place to cool off on a hot day. if the fallen timber and debris that has built up over the years, and semi blocks certain parts of the becks burn was cleared. this stream would tumble faster over the falls, and help the trout and sea trout on there way to the spawning redds. langholm, dumfriesshire, scotland. view large
