SPIRAL, texture. new 08/07/09.

discs of new fresh-bracket fungi, (polyporus squamosus)-dryad's saddle) also known as the pheasants back mushroom. growing on the stump of an old dead elm tree (ulmes procera)-the tree stump is stained with purple dye, from the old decaying fungi. this tree stump and fungi, have now been destroyed by a fully paid up member, of the mass chainsaw brigade. all for the sake of 2 or 3 logs, it does not grow on any other tree-or place in this area. so no more pics of this for anybody to take next year or ever. the becks, langholm, dumfriesshire, scotland. view large.
