Designing for Healthcare

Designing for Healthcare is a practical guide on the benefits that design can bring to patient education. The guide aims to substantiate the use of information design to better teach patients the complexities of their hospital visit. The guide was funded by a grant—Design Supports Design— to put design in the unlikeliest, but most necessary, places. It is a result of over a year of research and close observation at the University of Michigan Hospital. It is being sent to hospitals nationwide in hopes of igniting conversation on health literacy.
