The Xynole ready for epoxy

Notice how smooth this fabic lays down and so easy to work out wrinkles. The fabric reminds me of the thickness of an undershirt.

Be careful in the valleys formed by the hull bottom and chine flats especially as you move towards the transom and the valley angle increases . The Xynole needs to be laying flat in the valley. Even though I was sensitive to this issue, I still had some small spots where the Xynole ever so slightly lifted away from the plywood in the valley. Epoxy shrinks as it cures

One solution to repair small valley voids is to drill a hole and inject epoxy via a horse syringe from Tractor Supply Store.

When I was helping Ed with his Bluejacket Xynole installation, I accidently tipped a roller tray and the epoxy went into a hole in my tennis shoe. That night I had the experience of cutting and scraping a sock remnant off my big toe nail.

On my boat, while standing on a step stool and leaning over a bottom panel as I spread epoxy on the Xynole, I lost my footing and planted my chest into the epoxy. I am truly dangerous around construction materials that exist in a liquid state.
