Great Egret Pre Mating Courtship Texas
This male Great Egret flew up onto the back of the female Great Egret to mate. The female had already locked her beak into the nest to stabilize herself and the male just stood on top of her! This went on for what seemed like a minute!! She was not amused by the situation and with her beak locked into the nest she started calling loudly!! It was one of those moments that make you enjoy wildlife photography!! If you look closely you will also see one blue egg in the nest!! Fun day of photography in Texas!!
