El bosque de Irati es el marco de este sendero, que rodeando el embalse de Irabia, discurre en su práctica totalidad al abrigo del hayedo-abetal, alternando tramos de pistas forestales y antiguas sendas de leñadores.
A las puertas del Pirineo navarro y en pleno corazón del mayor hayedo-abetal de Europa, con 17.195 hectáreas, se enclava el embalse de Irabia que recoge las aguas del río Irati.
Irati Forest is part of this trail, around the reservoir Irabia, runs almost entirely sheltered from beech and spruce, alternating stretches of forest tracks and ancient paths of lumberjacks.
