photo 1464 - Below are pictures taken of our son's marriage proposal to his girlfriend at
Litchfield Beach, SC on Thursday, July 1st.
Andy Ladd of Kingsport, TN has vacationed at Litchfield with his family and the
Tillson family for over 10 years. Ashley Silander also had vacationed at
Litchfield with her family and friends for several years as well. The two met
and began dating in November 2008 while attending University of Tennessee.
This summer Ashley went with Andy's family and the Tillson family to Litchfield
beach with a plan by Andy to propose. Bill Tillson traditionally creates
several sand sculptures while at the beach so Andy solicited his help in making
one for the special event.......a treasure chest surrounded by a mermaid and
filled with gold coins (chocolate candies) and an engagement ring burried
beneath with a pink ribbon attached, draping out of the chest. As an added
surprise for Ashley, her family traveled from Charlotte to be present for the
proposal. By the time Andy & Ashley arrived around 8 pm (supposedly for a group
picture at the sand sculpture) and the proposal occurred, a crowd had gathered
on the beach waiting along with people all over the balconies of the
condos. When he finished proposing, the whole beach cheered and clapped. And
Ashley did say YES!!!!
What an awesome day!
Thanks,
Doris Ladd
