Elia Varela Serra
Elia is the co-founder of the new blogging platform with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa called Maneno (it means ‘words’ in Swahili). Originally from Spain, she is currently based in the USA after spending two years in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A journalism graduate, she holds a MA in Human Rights and has worked as a teacher, a translator and a writer. She’s also an avid blogger.
