Kaysersberg 2
Kaysersberg (German: Kaisersberg) is a small town and commune in the Haut-Rhin département, in Alsace, France. The name means "Emperor's Mountain" in German.
Kaysersberg is considered one of the most beautiful cities on the wine route ("Route des Vins Alsace"). Wine produced from the Tokay variety is a local specialty.
The smaii city (population about 2700) with its medieval atmosphere is one of the finest wine growing areas in Alsace. The high fortress that dominates the city serves as a reminder of both its strategic importance and its warlike past.
Kaysersberg lies north-west of Colmar, on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains.
Kaisersberg was the birthplace of Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965), theologian, musician, philosopher, and physician.

Kaysersberg ligt ten noordwesten van Colmar, op de oostelijke hellingen van de Vogezen.
De klein stad (ongeveer 2700 inwoners) met haar middeleeuwse sfeer wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste steden van de Elzas en ligt aan de wijnroute ( "Route des Vins Alsace") midden in een van de mooiste druivenboomgaardgebieden van de Elzas.
Tokay-wijn is een lokale specialiteit.
Een hoge burcht steekt boven de stad uit en is een herinnering van haar strategisch belang en het krijgshaftige verleden.
Kaisersberg was de geboorteplaats van Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965), theoloog, musicus, filosoof en arts.
