Here goes the skinny:

This was shot on Venice Beach for a marketing campaign for BlackRapid straps. You can check out lightenupandshoot.com for more details. Notes:

I wanted a bit of hard light so the light was a little further away than normal

 

I used shutter and aperture to control ambient. About 2.5 stops less than subject's exposure.

 

I had model wave the scarf. Slow shutter to capture movement.

 

In post production I added two photos for added texture and feel. A picture of a paint splattered wall and a wall with lots of rough texture. I blended them with modes "overlay" and "softlight." I then erased the texture in the face of the model.
