Wolf-Rayet Star, EZ CMa, and Its Bubble (Sh2-308)

EZ Canis Majoris (EZ CMa) is a massive and exceptionally hot star that is blowing its outer layers into space to form a very faint bubble. Near the centre of the bubble is the violet star (you can see the violet edges) which shines mostly in ultra-violet light and this causes the bubble to glow in the teal colour of doubly ionised oxygen (OIII) seen here. Distance ~5,000 ly.
