Fairy Bridge of Glen Creran

The scene of near disaster. I stayed at campsite in Glencoe for a few days, i arrived the afternoon before this shot. Weather was windy but dry. Once nightfall descended, the rain came. Its been a while since i 'slept' in a tent. Laying there on my semi comfortable air mattress, listening to what sounded like fighter jets but was another gust of wind working its way down the mountains to wallop my tent. Thankfully the tent took the gusts and stayed upright. The campsite, sits next to the river Coe. And it had rained alot in a few hours, so the anxiety of being washed away, whilst i slept kept me awake. I think i did get a two or three hours sleep in the end. The morning arrived and the river had risen by a couple of feet but would need to come up another metre or so to flood. I altered my plans for a highlevel walk to a something low and sheltered and visited Glen Creran for the first time. A lovely woodland walk and after 30mins of following the paths I arrived at the fairy bridge. You can't really tell from this shot by the water was quite high and the composition I wanted wasn't possible, as that would be taken from a spot which was currently a torrent and over knee deep. I got the camera out and attached it to the tripod. Or so I thought! No sooner had I let go, the camera tumbled to the ground and rolled into the water. I grabbed it quickly and used all my lens clothes to soak the water up. After drying off all the water I could find, I tried the power switch, fearing the worst. It kicked into life. I was extra extra careful the rest of my trip!
