EskimoFlyGirl - LIGHTNING Chaser
Adjusting
Adopting a dog from the shelter is easy. However, the adjustment time for the dog to settle into its new environment takes a while.
Summer is the name she came with from the shelter. She doesn't really react or answer to it, yet. The name seem to fit her.
She doesn't let us out of her sight. She whimpers when she can't see us. She loves the attention and reassurance we give her.
It was really interesting to watch her reaction the first time she gazed out into her new back yard. It was almost like she had never had a yard. Maybe not. Maybe she was a dog that always went out for a walk, an apartment/condo dog? Quiet little dog.
How anyone could give her up is unknown, she's a sweet dog and I'm sure she's been turned upside emotionally from the sudden changes that have happened to her, sad to think about.
She has melted our hearts after the recent loss of our other two dog. Maybe she's our therapy to help us recover from the sadness and onset of depression.
Thanks to the Franklin County Animal Shelter for having a webpage or we wouldn't have found her!
