Born to Dance 2
The story stamped into the feathers reads: She always knew she was born to dance. Never a doubt in her mind. It was a given, a knowing, an intuitive truth made tangible when she was given a magical box for her fifth birthday; her golden birthday. Round and round twirled the tiny dancer in white, every time she opened the lid of the small theater. The music always played for her. Did the music make her dance, or was it her dancing that compelled the music to play? Whirl and twirl, twirl and whirl. Pirouette tiny, tireless ballerina; pirouette. Just as sure as she knew she could bore a divot into the wooden floors, (or start a small fire) the faster she executed her foutte rond de jambe en tournant, she believed she could actually fly should she launch her body into her sauté with enough force. She really could fly. Although it was in short bursts, and sometimes at lower altitudes than anticipated, she was actually airborne for a brief moment. Free from the gravitational pull of the Earth and all of its grounding effects, for a split second, she could fly!
