VA Ward Memorial Mural
Ward Memorial Theater is located on the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Grounds in Milwaukee, WI. The theater portion of the structure was constructed by a German American architect named Henry C. Koch in 1881. The building was originally used as a two story multipurpose building. It included a restaurant, place of worship, train passenger waiting room, and a post office. In 1897 the building was completely remodeled to be used specifically as a theater. Later on the theater acquired projection equipment as the cinema industry became more prevalent.
Today the theater has been committed to being restored as a section of the roof has been completely redone, while further restoration efforts are still in the works.
Photograph taken of the main mural located above the stage in the theater portion of the building.
