Apricot and Lavender Brown Butter Tea Cakes / financiers

Financiers are essentially brown butter tea cakes with the addition of ground nuts, flour, sugar and egg whites. Financiers were first made in the late 19th century by a pastry chef whose shop was close to the Paris Stock Exchange. The location of his shop must have been influenced him as originally Financiers were baked in rectangular molds that were said to resemble bars of gold.

I absolutely love & adore lavender. I bought a sachet of edible lavender from the Blanco Lavender festival and been searching for the perfect recipe to introduce this heavenly fragrance to my family ( a Vanillaholic husband & chocoholic daughters )This recipe is a keeper for sure.
