This Australian Pelican was strongly attracted to a floating plastic bag, near the Wynnum Creek boat-ramp. It avoided its jealous friends and transferred the item to its pouch a number of times, only to reject it. Had it managed to swallow the rubbish, the story may have had a sad ending.

Luckily, a concerned kayaker retrieved the dangerous debris.
