The Lesser Wanderer is a smaller version of the non-native Wanderer or Monarch, known world-wide for its spectacular yearly migration through North America. The local version is almost ubiquitous on the Australian mainland but lacks a similar migratory urge. This male displays visible packs of androconia scales which produce an attracting pheromone.
