THE FURRY & THE FUZZY MEET THE SPIKY & THE SPINY – A Close Encounter of the Prickly Kind
► █░▓ HEDGEHOG HAS LANDED. DON'T BE FOOLED, IT'S APRIL, even at the mountain! The long winter sleep is over. Or at least interrupted. Is the spiky nation up from hibernation at this elevation (1420 m)? This brave hedgehog was at least, yesterday. Archie found him in the woods close to our home, where there's still some snow on the ground here and there. Don't know what the spiky guy is doing today, there are two inches of freshly fallen new snow and still falling. I hope Mr. Spikes made it to his sheltered home and brought his family a good snack.
I thought for a second, how eerie is it for the hedgy boy to watch such a beast as Archie from the close range? Eye to eye, nose to nose? But they are probably used to it, the spikes are mighty sharp, and the smart dog was inquisitive but kind to him. He didn't even touch him but tried to dig the ground in front of him. Note that the hedgy boy keeps an eye on the dog, or at least his snout is visible. Perhaps he is sniffing the DNA of the furry Japanese guy.
ꒌ БЛИСКИ СУСРЕТ ПРОЛЕЋНЕ ВРСТЕ - Прошлог лета Арчи је био штене и пуштен да се слободно креће. Вероватне је још тада наилазио на јежеве. За време дуге зиме на планини одрастао је, и у одсуству живота на дебелом снегу изоштрио своје чуло мириса.
У шуми је јуче још било снега, али се овај бодљикавац осмелио да из своје кућице крене у потрагу за храном. Данас пада цео дан, има га опет око 5 cm, ваљда је храбри јежурка нашао пут до свог склоништа?
