SLACK John Barnett

2nd Lieutenant Barnett SLACK, 5th Northumberland Fusiliers,formerly Private 37869 Leicestershire Regiment who made the supreme sacrifice, 27 May 1918, aged 26. He was the son of Henry and Sarah of 90, Tunstall Road, Biddulph. He was commissioned on the 27th November 1917 in the field in France. He is commemorated on his parents memorial at St Lawrence churchyard, Biddulph, Staffordshire

and also on the Pontavert German Cemetery Mememorial 18, at La Ville-Aux-Bois British Cemetery, Aisne, France
