Deer printing

Some of the White tailed deer tracks crossing the farm. Yes, deer are fun to look at but they also cause a lot of damage, and eat a lot, to the corn fields. One adult deer eats 15 pounds of corn per day equaling over 1 bushel of corn per week, or 4 bushels per month and about 15 bushels per year. That is just what they eat, they spoil about 3 time that with dropped ears, eaten seedlings and flattened stalks. A rough estimate by the state biologist was that there were around 35 deer on our property.
