Pixel Fox
Land Rover Series 3
"The Best 4x4xFar"
Set number 6698 is probably the first Lego set I was given as a child, and to this day is one of my favourites. I knew I wanted to include an updated version in this series, and the 4x4 in it was clearly meant to be a Series 3.
But figuring out how to actually build a S3 in 6 studs and have it be recognizable turned out to be much harder than I expected.
7 studs would've been better, but I've already done the S1 and Defender at 6 studs, so I'm committed to that scale.
I have a LDD file with earlier versions that is dated 6 months ago, and in that time I have switched between trying to design it in LDD or with real bricks at least 4 times, periodically returning to it and giving up again soon after.
I'm fairly happy with the final result, even if the proportions of the nose is a little too cartoonish.
