DIVCO (Detroit Industrial Vehicle Co.) had a fascinating beginning. It was founded by George Bacon, who was head engineer at the Detroit Electrical Vehicle Co. When that company rejetected Bacon's idea of building a gas-powered delivery vehicle fit for heavy use with frequent stops, for example, as a milk delivery truck, he and some partners founded DIVCO. DIVCO produced trucks from 1936-1986.
