Jeep DJ (Dispatcher) 1 of 2
The Iconic Jeep grill is seen on this abandoned delivery truck on the Maryland Eastern Shore. The Jeep DJ was originally built in 1955 by Willys, called Kaiser Jeep beginning in 1963. American Motors (AMC) bought the Jeep line in 1970 and continued the DJ series until 1983. It was widely used as a delivery truck; the US Postal Service was the major purchaser. Although Jeep was a money-losing brand when purchased by AMC, it is today the most profitable product of AMC's successor, Fiat Chrysler.
