Engine House No. 11, Detroit, Michigan

Built in 1883, a mile from Brush Park (see previous photos). This building originally housed a horse-drawn Silsby steam engine and hose reel cart (the steam engine pumped water and sprayed it through the hose). Engine House No. 11 was retired as a firehouse in 1972, and is a Michigan State Historic Site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
