With the ability to interface directly with the Net came the synthetic narcotics. They can do almost anything in the mind. They can move a person anywhere through the Net. They can seek out patterns in the information, real or imagined. They make people see the world differently. There are even claims that some people have left their bodies entirely, but there's no proof.
