festive food

Zong (rice dumpling) is a traditional Chinese food, made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. They are cooked by steaming or boiling for 2 hours. Zong is traditionally eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival(Tuen Ng Festival) which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar (approximately early- to mid-June). My recipe was passed down from my grandma which has glutinous rice, mung bean, pork belly, dried oyster, dried shitake mushroom, chestnut and salted egg yolk
