Thierry, master illustrator. Noticed this guy first for his linework--as everyone in brushes knows that the line (especially in the very beginning) had limitations in terms of range--and when you are an artist who uses a billion lines, it can be a frustration when the line is consistently the same throughout. So, then there is no wonder why, this piece demanded my full attention. Thierry's linework is beautiful here--in fact, it is so beautiful that it can be easily displayed on it its own. I am happy that thierry decided to leave this as a line drawing--a true display of talent (and flexible adjustment to certain app limitations)...took great talent to manipulate the linework here (and, some of those lines just take a very precise and sure hand...err...finger...) well done!
thierry/another linemaster/illustration at its finest/good stuff...

This blew me away--not just the final image but the construction. Thierry uses multiple routes when putting together his illustrations--BUT, THIS ONE...was just...WOW. Instead of drawing a base image, he splattered colors using the very intimidating (and uncontrolled) pollock app, THEN applied linework and blending of color (see the splatters). This is an aesthetic I LOVE, brought a new dimension to his super gorgeous illustrations. You can see snapshots of the process through his photostream. check him out!

Ahhh, the many faces of Julia Kay! I found this artists while lazily perusing Brushes photostreams (looking for inspiration)...JACKPOT! This was absolutely a first AND FAVE for me. I have yet to use the typedrawing app, however, I love the technique here. You will find that she uses multiple apps when doing her portraits (sometimes brushes, sometimes pollock, sometimes colors, etc. etc.) They all somehow retain a signature style (I believe it is the line work)...many of the images translate simplistically, however, it is a style that cannot be duplicated...while moving throught he photostream, i also fell in love with Julia's paintings...at some point, it became difficult to even tell which was done on the iphone and which was done on canvas! lol...I love them all though. Julia is very dedicated (and disciplined artist)--she is the one who inspired me to do daily exercises (fast sketches of people on metro)...check out her daily portraits--you'll see why. Amazing amazing amazing!

As I mentioned before, I also love Julia's canvas paintings. So you can imagine my excitement when she started going back to old paintings and sketches and creating collages through her use of juxtaposer, brushes and other art apps. Here is one of her portraits--a combination of multiple paintings, to create one beautifully impressive face--and of course, in her signature style (linework and structure). AWESOME--it is a reinvention of her work. I love her confidence--it translates through her work and is ever-inspiring.

A beautiful composition here! This is my favorite by Catalina. again, this translates as another fashion piece in my view. The colors are inspiring, the composition has a surreal and whimsical feel to it. the beautiful sillouhette of the cat and birds flying about unite the piece. Simply gorgeous.

Ahhh, space girl, Performita!!!!!! I really did find her way up there somewhere I did a painting for the theme red--Red Moon...in the comments, I mentioned that I was a little "spacey" these days. Performita chimed in "it is okay to be spacey...i am spacey..." and sure enough...I think she was a lot braver than me. ;-) I only ventured to the moon...but...Performita moves through galaxies, black holes, nebula, the moons of saturn and beyond....This was the first piece to blow me away...the texture and colors are awesome....beautiful and imaginative interpretation of what lies beyond. It is really something magical.

This is one of my faves--again, a beautiful depiction of galaxies beyond. Another display of Perf's bold (and very wise) use of color. the detail on the planets and of that sky is impeccable. Brava, Perf!!!!! You are my all-time favorite space-traveler. Perf has some very impressive earth work as well. Check the amazing portraits in her photostream.
