Discovered this artist on fingerpainted.it. If you ever want to find some awesome mobile artwork and artists, this is another solid place to go. Matt Connors actually walks you through the process of creating Shiva Rising on the site as well. I want to say that this is a good display of texture, line work and the merging of apps. Also, the feel of this is very distinct--and you will see it displayed in most of his work. I ams still trying to figure out if it is the color pallette, the brushstroke of the line work that gives his pieces such a signature feel. Whatever it is, it is awesome and i want a lot more of it!

Daveart...his still life work is absolutely marvelous. On this beautifully composed piece, he not only perfectly captures the light shadow on the lemons, but he also very skillyfully captured the reflection on the table. The texture on the lemon (especially the one on the far right) is awesome. He clearly had a very good "getting to know you" session with his subject. I have a thing for lovely compositions, and so, it seemed only natural to explore more of his work. Another FIRST and favorite is his painting of a salt shaker. You know what to do--check the stream. :-)

Real iDon't...another grand illustrator with a very interesting point of view. I LOVE this piece! the blending here is beautiful and so is the concept. I love the idea of a child holding the galaxyin her hands. the glow around her is beautiful and so is the orange/yellow backdrop. And check the detail int he galaxy (both in her tiny hands and the moon beyond) and the land behind. This is an awesome futuristic portrait...very well executed vision. A crisp clean display of technical ability partnered with a beautiful imagination.

another beautiful rendering. I have two favorites by real...i chose this one because of the detail AND texture. The colors are gorgeous when combined together. He really captured the texture of the squirrels fur. I also like the light on the eye. He is guarding his winter bounty...he'll clearly be eating well this year. :-)
my other fave is Red Riding Hood. The red sunlight glowing through the woods...check his photostream...you will love it.

Rino Larsen. Ahh, SINGER!!!!! absolutely adore this and would not have found it had I not been perusing iCreated's gallery. I am still amazed everytime I look at it. I mean, the texture here is awesome. The orange light in the afro puffs (and everyone knows I'm partial to an afro...lol) is beautiful. The butterflies! This is awesome linework, but beyond that, the vision is solid! This is one of those types of favorites that you wish you could favorite over and over and over again! lol...this was my first AND fave by this artist. Excellent work.

Awww the zombie wastelands of Kevin Bee. KING of zombies. When I saw this, I was stunned. The feel of this piece is a bit a spooky. The lines and light coming from behind are extraordinary to me. This was an instant fave for me. This is the first of a 3-part series--and they are all amazing. Look at these lines--they look like dangling wires, or no, HAY...half robot, half scarecrow?! lol...AWESOMENESS! This artist has great vision. I love all of his illustrations. especially the shadowed scenes of Zombie takeovers, illuminated only by a backglow of light. KevinBee/bring your Zombie survivor guide/they seem to come out at sunrise...

This is one of two of my favorites by KevinBee. I chose this one beacuse I wanted to demonstrate his range. And I'm always partial to depictions of urban life...cityscapes. i love this one because the perspective is a bit surreal--if that makes sense...like something a bit off-center--which makes it exciting to me. The lines and motion in this are great here, as well.
The other favorite is the 3rd piece from the Wastelands series.

FlickChick...brings the most fashion-foward, beautiful (and incredibly fun) figures to the mix. This "Ode to Chanel" drawing was first of many to draw me into this dreamland of beautiful, stylish and versatile women. Each one has her very own personality (some with catchy names and stories to match their impeccable wardrobes). The very first one that made me a true Flickchick follower was a woman in a butterfly hat--for some reason, I am not able to post it to the gallery--but check it out in her photostream.
FlickChick/queen of fashion/and a lesson for all the girls out there/stylish hats and accessories/and don't forget your red lipstick...be bold! Never late for ANY occasion--which makes you absolutely EXTRAORDINARY and someone worth following.

Ahh, then there was texture. I know flick also for the development of her figures. Somehow, she can get them moving around. This is only ONE of my favorites. I love the texture, the feel, the look of her eyes, the her super-rosy cheeks. I also love her "Sonia Delaney" series and her "Pie hat" series. You MUST go see!

Rocketdisc...okay this is not really the first one that drew me to this artist. (it's more like the 2nd.) The first was a birthday card he designed for me, derived from his very beautiful mask series--it looked like a barcode. This artist, i believe, offers edge and range to the community of mobile artists. I do not know much about graphic design, but his work makes me think of it. Very good use of color and composition (this is another piece from the mask series).
Rocket is another master of apps (merging them to create a beautiful composition/layout/design. This is the first artist who demonstrated that you could actually do graphic design on your phone. Ready for print design too. I can see much of his work on posters, flyers or even a billboard. I think he has EXCELLENT VISION and an impeccable (and unmatched) sense of design and style. Some of his work also reminds me of basquiat--especially from the mask series. But trust, there is a lot of depth to this artist, so you must check his stream.

This is one of my favorites "morning lights over the deep grey". A beautiful composition. A very simple color pallette--you see why I find him to be a brilliant designer. I also love how the the placement of the shadows cause the building to spring into the foreground. This takes the sort of skill that i just don't have! lol...Beautiful work. I have other favorites--one is a coca-cola ad he created....but then, there are others too...:-)

Mikedia...struck me first with this coward. The man seems to be so shameful he hides his face--even in the light. I thought it was awesome-- the mood, tone, shadows. You'll find that many of his illustrations have this distinct roundness to them. I don't know how else to describe it. The brush stroke and/or layering of color is also very distinct with mikedia. Note the texture in the figure's blue shirt. Mikedia is also known for his black and white work (check his photo stream). mikedia/no shame no gain, eh?/shadowmaster...

I have two favorites--I chose this one because I loved it the moment I saw it's thumbnail in the brushes stream. the poor little bear! He should be happy for the his amazing linework, light and color. but I understand--if you don't have love--you have nothing. HOpefully, by now, he's found someone to share that lovely heart with.
My other favorite his his close-up black/red rendering of Hellboy.

Ritaflo--found this gem in the iphone painting a week group. This was her post for the theme "medical condition"...the condition was depression. and Depression is very clearly captured in this piece. This touched me--but I was also touched by her phenomenal use of the apps. her work is distinct in style and tone. When I peruse her stream, it is almost as if I've been transported to some apartment building with no doors...you walk by and glance in here and there--and sometimes you catch a very honest moment of joy, happiness, laughter, sadness...depression. Love it!

As always, I have a few favorites--this is one. I chose this because I wanted you to see her range. Again, captured, in this piece is everything i like about her--app fusion, very distinct color pallette and brushwork, a collage feel...ands the words...sometimes int eh foreground sometimes lingering in teh back like a fading newsprint. Awesome artist to follow!
