Day 241 of Living Gratefully
My wife Amy and I had front-row seats at an arm-wrestling competition today. The guy on the right, wearing the black hat, was who we figured everyone else had to beat--he was so powerfully built--but his match with the guy on the left was over in less than 30 seconds.
I'm grateful for three things: underdogs, the power of thwarted expectations to motivate us to greater heights, and that look of fierce determination on Black Hat's face.
He might've lost, but he sure as hell didn't make it easy for the other guy. :)
Note: the guy looking on is a judge.
