Day 156 of Living Gratefully
Today's National Donut Day, and to celebrate, I got myself a plain donut. Yay!
I remember one time I asked the server at a Dunkin' Donuts if she thought people bought donuts based on their personalities. For example, did creative people buy pink-frosted donuts with rainbow sprinkles? She said she'd never thought about it, but now that she was, she supposed they probably did.
I said I supposed a person who bought a plain donut, also known as an "old fashioned," was probably a pretty unimaginative person.
Without missing a beat, she said she thought plain-donut people were probably the most creative, because they knew where to put their energies.
I gave her a 100-percent tip.
I'm grateful for National Donut Day, as well as for the diplomats in each of our lives. :)
