wolves in Lamar Valley
We were watching for the wolves in the Lamar Valley of YNP when we came across three wolves on the left side of the road. As they ran ahead we followed in the chance the may cross the road and give us a much better view. They did cross and to our surprise there were 7 of them and they gave quite a show bouncing all over. Finally they crossed the Soda Butte River and moved further away from the road. We have been out there for the past 9 or so years and always have been on the lookout for the wolves. We saw them twice before but at a distance where we could only see them with binoculars or a spotting scope so we could never get a picture of them. So this was a treat to see them up close and a total of seven of them.
